Shree Cement with India’s Mega-plant in Nawalgarh
A huge 11500 tpd clinker line has been commissioned by Shree Cement in Nawalgarh Tehsil in Rayasthan, about 250 km Southeast of India’s Capital New Delhi. The brownfield Mega cement plant has a 4-string calciner and is able to produce 3.8 Mta of clinker and 3.5 Mta of cement. Leading equipment supplier is FLSmidth, who received an order in October 2021.
Malaysia’s cement production increased by almost 15%
In Malaysia from January to October 2023 the cement production increased by -14.9 to 18.247 Mt, YoY, which makes Malaysia one of the countries with the largest increase this year. In October the cement production even increased by +24.9% to 1.617 Mt after 1.295 Mt in October 2022.
Hoffmann Green signs first contract with US partner
Hoffmann Green signed a preliminary licensing agreement with an undisclosed US partner to build several Hoffmann units in Florida, USA. After a series of successful tests, the two companies have reached an agreement setting out the main points of a licensing contract to be signed by March 31, 2024. The units will be built on the same model H2, Hoffmann Green's second production unit based in Bournezeau in North-West of France.
Adani will expand grinding capacities in Uttarakhand, India
Mr. Gautam Adani, which is the founder and chairman of the Adani Group, announced investments of RS 1700 Cr in Uttarakhand, North of New Delhi in Northern India. A smaller amount is to expand Ambuja Cement’s 2007 commissioned 1.0 Mta Roorkee grinding plant to about 2.5 Mta, while a larger amount is to install a new 4.0 Mta grinding plant at an undisclosed location (photo: stand-alone VRM grinding plant of Ambuja Cement).
WHR system planned at Çimsa Eskisehir, Türkiye
An ORC-based waste heat recovery (WHR) system will be installed at the Eskisehir cement plant of Çimsa in Türkiye by the end of 2024. This organic rankine cycle WHR system is designed to produce a gross power of 5.9 MW, which corresponds to about 25% of the electricity consumption of the Eskisehir cement plant, avoiding 19000 t of CO2 equivalent emissions each year. The cutting-edge technology is provided by CTP Team (Italy) and CTN Group (Türkiye). The order has been awarded by Enerjisa Enerji, another subsidiary of the Sabancı Group, which also owns Çimsa.
Spain’s cement exports declined by -4.4%
Spain's cement exports continue to decljne this year. From January to November 2023 only 3.702 Mt have been exported, which is a decline by -4.4%, YOY. In November the exports declined by -18.5% to 0.296 Mt after 0.364 Mt in November last year.
