Shree Digvijay Cement plans to expand its integrated capacity
Shree Digvijay Cement Company plans to expand its cement plant located in Sikka in Gurajat with direct jetty access. The goal is to improve the productivity of the integrated plant and to allow higher blended cement rates. Accordingly, the clinker capacity shall be expanded from the existing 1.1 Mta to 2.21 Mta, while the cement capacity shall be upgraded from 1.2 Mta to 3.0 Mta.
In Uzbekistan the cement production decreased in 3Q 2023
Despite the decrease in the cement production in the 3Q 2023 by -1.2% to 3.487 Mt, the cement production in Uzbekistan increased in the first three quarters of the year by +5.9% to 9.218 Mt, after 8.705 Mt in the same period in 2022. Highest increase has been in the 2.Q 2023 with plus 14.8%, YoY. Data cover the production by large enterprises.
Cement production in Thailand is improving in 3Q 2023
After a decline in 1.Q and 2.Q 2023, the cement production in Thailand has been improving in 3.Q of 2023 by +1.3% to an accumulated production volume of 27.421 Mt after 27.937 Mt in the first three quarters in 2022. However, this year it is still a minus of -1.8%, when compared with last year.
Shree Cement operates new split grinding plant in Purulia
After the inauguration in September this year, Shree Cement is operating its new greenfield 3.0 Mta cement split grinding plant in Purulia, West Bengal. The cement plant is equipped with a Gebr. Pfeiffer vertical roller mill (VRM) of 300 t/h cement capacity. Shree Cement also targets in Q3 of FY 23/24 the commissioning of the Nawalgarh integrated cement plant (3.8 Mta clinker, 3.5 Mta cement) in Rajasthan and in Q2 FY 24/25 the Gutur integrated cement plant (1.5 Mta clinker, 3.0 Mta cement) in Andhra Pradesh.
Malaysia with +13.8% cement production increase in 3Q 2023
In Malaysia, cement production increased in the first 3 quarters of 2023 by 13.8% to 16.607 Mt after 14.592 Mt in the same period last year. The largest increase was in the 2Q with +28.6% and in the 3Q of 2023 with +26.8%
In Armenia in 1H 2023 the cement production up by +41.7%
In Armenia, in the first half of 2023 the cement production increased by +41.7% to 0.604 Mt from 0.426 Mt in the same period last year. In the 1.Q the increase was +45.95, while in the 2.Q in 2023 the increase was +39.3%. About 0.153 Mt of cement have been imported in 1.H 2023.
