Ambuja Cements, which is part of the Adani Group, added 4 Mta brownfield clinker capacity at its Bhatapara plant in Chhattisgarh in India. The Bhatapara unit of Ambuja Cements Ltd (ACL) has been established in 1987 under Management of Modi Cement Ltd. with a cement capacity of 1.8 Mta. ACL took over the plant in 1998 and expanded its clinker capacity by another line to 2.72 Mta, leading to a clinker capacity of 4.8 Mta and a cement manufacturing capacity of 3.5 Mta. With the commissioning of the new clinker unit, Ambuja Cement’s consolidated clinker capacity has increased to 66 Mta.
