Sweden’s Cemvision and Vattenfall have signed an agreement for the supply of near-zero-carbon cement to be used in energy infrastructure projects across Europe. This collaboration marks an important step in reducing carbon emissions from onshore wind farms, such as the wind turbine foundations (photo). The deliveries from Cemvision’s first industrial-scale production plant are scheduled to begin in 2028. Furthermore, in another project, Cemvision will conduct a joint-feasibility study with Tata Steel to convert basic oxygen furnace (BOF) and electric arc furnace (EAF) slags into feedstock for near-zero-CO₂ cement.
