India’s Jindal Cement will expand capacity to 10 Mta

Jindal Panther Cement has announced plans to quadruple its cement production capacity in India to 10 Mta within the next 3 years. This is backed by an investment plan of approximately ₹3,000 crore. Around ₹2,500 crore (US$276m) will be allocated to adding 4.5 Mta of new capacity at the existing two cement plants (photo) with 3.0 Mta at Raigarh in Chattisgarh and 1.5 Mta at Angul in Odisha. These plants are in the vicinity of Jindal Steel’s existing steel plant, accordingly the company has become a major producer of composite cements, including slag cement and GGBFS. The company will also be setting up a 3.0 Mta grinding unit in the Delhi – NCR region for a capital expenditure of ₹450 crore– ₹500 crore.
