At the Höver cement plant of Holcim in Germany a membrane CCS technology by Cool Planet Technologies (CPT) is under construction. After initial tests 2 year ago, in the 2nd phase of the project, about 10 kta of CO2 shall be captured with the PolyActive membrane technology from the exhaust gases of the plant (photo: illustration of test module by CPT). The project has received funding approval by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The test module will be operated for 12 months before being relocated to another test site outside Germany for other carbon capture installations.
