The Thomas Group intends to install a modern energy efficient cement mill at its Karsorf cement plant in Germany. The new facility (illustration of vertical roller mill) will replace several existing cement mills. The investment of more than €50m is partly funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. In April 2026 began the dismantling of exiting mills. Construction work is scheduled to be completed by November 2026, with assembly planned through June 2027; regular operations will begin in the third quarter of 2027.
