The company celebrated the opening of its new cement plant in Mitchell, Indiana, the second-largest single cement production facility in North America. The capacity of the plant has been expanded to 2.4 Mta cement after a several-year construction period and an investment of more than US$600 million. The plant will reduce the CO2 emissions of the clinker production by almost 30%. The new Mitchell K4 project shall replace the current kiln lines, which are more than 50 years old.
