Bangladesh’s Confidence Cement is building a new 1.8 Mta cement grinding plant at Narsingdi to meet future demand in Dhaka. The CCDL plant is under construction and shall be operational beginning of next year. The costs for the plant are expected US$ 68.2m. Key equipment is a 6000 tpd VRM supplied by Loesche in Germany. The plant will produce different cement types from imported clinker but comes amid a slowdown in construction across Bangladesh, following political changes and economic issues. Confidence Cement currently operates a 1.2 Mta grinding plant near Chattogram.
