Heracles signed a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract with Air Liquide for the OLYMPUS CCS project at the Milaki plant in Greece. Air Liquide shall supply the Milaki plant with integrated systems for CO2 capture, oxygen enrichment and cryogenic separation. Captured CO2 will be liquefied and transported by sea to the Greek offshore sequestration facility of Prinos in the Aegean Sea. The investment will exceed € 300m, of which € 124.5 m is provided by the EU Innovation Fund. OLYMPUS is one of the largest carbon capture and store projects of the Holcim Group with full operation by 2029, enabling to remove 1.0 Mta CO2.
