At COP28, thyssenkrupp Polysius signed a project with Fujairah Cement Industries (FCI) to replace fossil fuels with alternative fuels (AF) and to reduce CO2 emissions. FCI is the largest cement producer in the UAE with two Polysius kiln lines combining 4.0 Mta of clinker and 2.4 Mta of cement. The plant and precalciners shall be converted with new combustion chambers and other equipment to utilize alternative fuels as an important step in ‘green’ cement production.
