Ambuja Cement, which is part of the Adani Group, completes the acquisition of a 54% majority stake in Sanghi Industries, which further consolidates the Indian cement industry. Sanghi operates the Sanhipuram cement plant (photo) in Kutch, Gujarat as well as a 143 MW power plant and sea terminals in Gujarat and Kerala. The 6.1 Mta cement capacity of the plant (6.6 Mta clinker) boosts the cement capacity of Ambuja Cement from 68.5 Mta to 74.6 Mta.
