Cameroon’s Cimencam, which is controlled by Lafarge-Holcim, has inaugurated a 1000 tpd kiln line for its existing cement production facility. The new CIMFIG clinker line (photo) is located in Figuil, in Cameroon’s North Region. The cement production of the plant has been expanded from 0.15 Mta to 0.35 Mta, resp. 1900 tpd of cement. The plant upgrade is expected to supply cement to Cameroon’s North and Far North regions, while it is also possible to enter the Chadian market, where frequent shortages and steep prices are major concerns.
