CBI Ghana announced the launch of Supacem LC3-45, an innovative limestone calcined clay cement (LC3) that is the first commercial calcined clay with less than 50% clinker. The new product reduces the reliance on imported clinker and sets a new standard for eco-friendly and high-quality construction. The production is located in the Tema plant (photo) by Joint-Venture partners Heidelberg Materials and CBI Ghana Ltd, using a flash calcination technology with 1200 tpd capacity. Accordingly, the plant is capable to produce about 0.4 Mta calcined clay.
