CO2 project of Cemex in Germany receives EU funding

Cemex werk ruedersdorf

The Cemex CCUS project at the Rüdersdorf plant in Germany has been selected by the EU Innovation Fund to receive € 153m. This is Cemex’s largest planned CCUS project to capture 1.3 Mta of CO2. The project will implement Linde’s HISORP®cryogenic-adsorptive technology that captures CO2 from the exhaust gas of the kiln line. The CO2 is than compressed and liquefied, while the liquid CO2 will be transported to an intermediate hub, from where the CO2 is shipped to an offshore storage site. The plant shall be available by 2030.
