DESFA in Greece will receive a grant from the EU Innovation Fund for its APOLLOCO2-LT project which is the company’s contribution to the wider Prinos CCS PCI initiative. The project aims to establish an open-access carbon capture and storage (CCS) hub from the cement industry, power plants, refineries and other sources in South-Eastern Europe, featuring a liquefaction export terminal at Revythoussa, comprising of an onshore and offshore unit, and offer temporary storage before its transport to permanent storage sites. DESFA’s contribution to the project includes the construction of a dedicated CO2 pipeline connecting emitters from the region of Attica.
