In a ceremony two days ago, Devki’s Narendra Raval and H.E. Hon Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of Kenya, have broken ground for a US$ 500m integrated cement plant. The plant location in Mwingi North of Kitui country is in a straight-line distance of 100 km to the Athi River cement cluster in neighbouring country Machaco, south of Nairobi. Kitui is an emerging limestone-rich area in the East African country. The new Simba cement plant shall be operational by 2027, which is very challenging. The kiln size could be 5000 tpd, the planned cement capacity is unknown.
