Heidelberg Materials starts its CCUS project at Devnya Cement in Bulgaria. The ANRAV project received a funding of € 189.7m by the EU Innovation Fund in January this year. The ANRAV project will avoid 7.8 million tons of CO2 emissions over 10 years via a combined Oxyfuel/amine hybrid concept, where after the carbon capture CO2 is finally stored in depleted gas-fields in the Black Sea close to Varna. The start of the ANRAV.beta pilot stage shall reduce the project risks and to have to project operational by 2028.
