The DREAM project by Heidelberg Materials at the Rezzato-Mazzano cement plant represents the first full-scale CCS and full chain (Carbon Capture and Storage) project in Italy’s cement sector. About 1 Mt of CO2 shall be captured each year. The CO2 shall be transported to the Ravenna CCS storage hub and injected underground of the Adriatic Sea (we reported here: 31.01. and 30.09 2024). The project has now been chosen for a grant by the EU Innovation Fund.
