After a period of stagnation, the cement production in Ethiopia has been increasing with +5.1% to 9.83 Mta last year and 8.77 Mta in 2019. However, the capacity utilization is with only 46.8% not economical and the per capita consumption of cement is with 77 kg one of the lowest in Africa.
