In the first quarter of 2024, Ethiopia’s cement consumption increased by +19.6% to 1.89 Mt, after 1.58 Mt in the same period last year and 1.50 Mt in the year before. The increase is due to a projected GDP growth of 6.2% this year and a construction boom in housing and infrastructure.
