Sanya International is building the Al Amir 2.0 Mta cement plant close to Narjaf City, south of Baghdad in Iraq. General contractor is Chinese Sinoma Suzhou, who awarded an order for a MVR 5000 R-4 grinding unit to Gebr. Pfeiffer. The vertical mill will grind 500 t/h of cement raw material to a fineness of 10 % R to 0.090 mm. The material is dried in the mill from a feed moisture content of approx. 12 % to a residual moisture of < 0.5 %. 4,400 kW are installed on the mill drive. The MVR mill is expected to be put into service in the second half of 2026.
