
Hunnewell Cement, which has been formed after the divestment of Heidelberg Materials Georgia in the country in 2023, will double the cement capacity of the Kaspi cement plant (photo) to 2.0 Mta to fully reduce the country’s dependence on imports. The project costs have been given with US$ 70m, while the new line shall be operational by the end of next year as a response to the growing construction sector. The company operates 2 integrated cement plants in Kaspi and Rustavi as well as the Poti grinding unit. Hunnewell Cement’s objective is to be the country’s major cement producer, while leading the industry’s development based on the long-term experience and innovative vision.
