Germany’s Heidelberg Materials signed an agreement with Pronto to deploy their autonomous haulage system (AHS) to over 100 trucks, operating across more than a dozen sites worldwide. The AHS software learns a haul route from a quarry operator driving a vehicle manually on the desired route, just one time. This straightforward implementation reduces the time and capital needed to introduce autonomy into a fleet. It requires little, if any, infrastructure modifications. A pilot project of Pronto’s AHS started at Heidelberg Materials’ quarry in Bridgeport, Texas, USA. The system’s rollout will be expanded to more than a dozen sites across North America, Europe and APAC, in a first wave.
