Heidelberg Materials announced that it has entered into a definitive purchase agreement to acquire US Giant Cement Holding Inc. and its subsidiaries. The transaction’s assets in the south-eastern US consist of an integrated 0.8 Mta cement plant in Harleyville (photo), South Carolina, and a network of cement distribution and import terminals in Georgia, New England, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The acquisition shall further strengthen the company’s cementitious footprint in the key south-eastern US and New England markets and contribute to its circular offerings and decarbonisation efforts.
