The evoZero® cement brand from carbon-captured cement plants has been launched by Heidelberg Materials in Europe in 2023. The expected production by 2030 from fully approved projects is about 1.35 Mta from the two cement plants Brevik in Norway and Padeswood in the UK. By 2029 the Brevik production shall be increased to 0.55 Mta. From 2029 additionally 0.4 Mta shall be produced in Padeswood. These figures have to be compared to 63.0 Mta cement capacity by Heidelberg Materials in Europe (2024).
