
Heidelberg Materials’ Bulgarian subsidiary in Devnya and renewable energy developer CWP Europe have signed a preliminary agreement to develop a new CWP wind farm. According to CWP, the investment exceeds more than € 300m, which will make the project the largest wind farm in the country upon commissioning. The agreement between the two companies stipulates that the foundation structures of the facilities will be built using EvoZero, the world’s first carbon-neutral cement. Heidelberg Materials will be supplied with green energy from a portion of the energy output of the new windfarm. With the EU Innovation Fund supported ANRAV CCUS project, which shall be operational in 2028, and the green energy commitment, Heidelberg Materials Devnya is a benchmark in cement industry decarbonisation
