Heidelberg Materials UK intends to construct an industry leading carbon capture facility at their Padeswood cement works in North Wales to capture up to 0.8 Mta of CO2. The project will protect 222 direct and indirect jobs, create 54 additional full-time jobs and bring significant investment to the cement plant and the region’s economy. A public consultation for the CCS- project at Padeswood will run from today to 12 August 2024. The scheme will be an integral part of the HyNet industrial cluster, which could save up to 10 million tonnes of CO2 per year.
