Holcim is working on its Go4EcoPlanet CCS-Project at the Kujawy cement plant in Poland since some 1 ½ years and still needs a long time to go. The planned system will use the unique Cryocap™ FG technology by Air Liquide to capture almost 100% of the CO2 from the cement plant flue gas. When the plant is functional in 2027 about 1.2 Mta CO2 will be captured (10% of Poland’s cement industry emissions), liquefied and transported to Gdansk for shipping to offshore storage. The relevant project costs are € 380 m, € 228 m were granted from the EU Innovation Fund in 2022.
