Holcim Česko will build a calcined clay processing line in the Czech Republic for completion by the end of 2026. The plant construction will start in January 2025 for an investment of US$ 44m with a financial support of CZK 330m (US$ 14.5m) by the Czech Modernisation Fund of the Ministry for Environment. Last month, the contract for the plant construction has been awarded to Sinoma CBMI Construction and German company Köllemann. Holcim is becoming a pioneer in this area. Calcined clays can become a key material in Holcim’s new cement products, which will have a significantly lower carbon footprint.
