India’s Adani Group committed Rs 5,000 crore for the development and expansion of the Group’s cement plants in the Chhattisgarh state. Today the company owns the two integrated cement plants in Bhatapara (photo) by Ambuja Cement and the Jamul Cement Works (JCW) by ACC. In Bhatapara, which has 2 lines operating with 1.7 and 3.1 Mta clinker capacity, line 3 with a clinker capacity of 4.0 Mta is under construction with major equipment being under erection. Completion of the plant is expected in Q4 FY25. The capacity enhancement in JCW is unknown now, due to limitations in appropriate limestone resources.
