India’s Adani Cement deploys Coolbrook innovation

Adani Cement and Finnish Coolbrook have partnered to deliver the world’s first commercial deployment of Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) at the Boyareddypalli cement plant in Andrah Pradesh in India. This groundbreaking project pioneers clean, electrified industrial heat powered entirely by renewables, marking a major step toward decarbonising cement production. According to the inventors, the RDH™ (photo: pilot installation) brings together space science, turbomachinery and chemical engineering and can replace conventional fossil fired furnaces and kilns in industrial heating processes by directly imparting the shaft’s mechanical energy to the heated gas, thus providing the process heat.
