Ambuja Cements, which is part of India’s Adani Group, plans to build a new 4.0 Mta cement grinding plant at Motia Village in Jharkhand, in India’s Eastern region. The proposed greenfield unit will use fly ash from the Adani Power (Jharkhand) coal-fired power plant. In Jharkhand, Ambuja already operates -via subsidiary ACC Limited- the integrated Chaibasa cement plant (photo) and the Sindri cement grinding plant with a combined cement capacity of 6.0 Mta. The new project is budgeted with about US$120 m, plant commissioning is scheduled for 2026.
