India’s Ambuja will acquire a 1.5 Mta grinding unit

Ambuja Cements signed an agreement to acquire the Tuticorin grinding unit from My Home Industries (MHIPL) in the southern part of Tamil Nadu, India. The grinding unit has a capacity of 1.5 Mta and was installed with a FLSmidth vertical roller mill (VRM) in 2017. The facility produced mainly PPC using fly ash from various power plants in the area. Located near the Tuticorin port, the asset will aid Ambuja Cements in enhancing a coastal footprint across Southern markets of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. With the acquisition Adani’s Ambuja will expand its cement capacity to 78.9 Mta, comprising 18 integrated cement plants and 19 grinding units across the country.
