India’s Shree Cement commissioned 6 MW solar power

Shree Cement commissioned a new solar power plant (photo) at their Roorkee cement plant in in Uttarakhand, India. With this latest addition, solar capacity at the Roorkee facility has grown sevenfold — from 1.0 MWp to 7.0 MWp — taking Shree Cement’s total solar footprint to an impressive height. Sustaining green power consumption of the company is now at over 55%, the highest in the Indian cement industry. This transformation required an investment of Rs. 1050 Cr in 236 MW solar & wind power plants. Further investment of Rs. 700 crores is planned in FY25 for installing 148 MW plants in 5 states.
