India’s Shree Cement started a 3.0 Mta cement plant

Shree Cement Limited, one of India’s largest cement producers, inaugurated its new integrated cement plant in Dachepalli village, Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The integrated 3.0 Mta capacity cement plant (Photo credit: Amit Patel, plant during construction) is designed to serve the growing markets of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, generating about 700 direct jobs. The plant will use up to 30% alternative fuels and meets 75% of its power needs through a 12 MW waste heat recovery system and 21.5 MW solar power plant. With the Guntur plant now operational, Shree Cement plans to expand its current cement capacity of 56.4 Mta to about 80 Mta by 2030.
