Shree Cement started the 3.0 Mta capacity Etah cement grinding unit at Nigh Hasanpur, Uttar Pradesh in India (we reported here 23.2.2024). The new plant will mainly produce Portland Pozzolanic Cement (PPC), supplied with fly ash from the adjacent 2×660 MW coal-fired Jawaharpur Thermal Power Plant (photo) in Aruna Nagar. The Etah grinding unit will serve as a model for sustainability in the cement sector, featuring zero-waste operations to ensure minimal environmental impact. The strategic location of the unit close to the railway infrastructure, enables cost-effective transportation of raw materials, while cement dispatch will leverage both roads and railways for economic distribution.
