India’s Shree Cement to build 3 new cement plants

India’s Shree Cement plans to build 3 more cement plans in Karnataka according to a MoU between the company and the Government of Karnataka. Shree is one of the TOP3 cement players in India, with 53.4 Mta cement capacity, operating 1 GW of captive power with a focus on green electricity (photo). 1 new integrated cement plant with 3.5 Mta clinker and 3.0 Mta cement capacity shall be commissioned in Kalaburagi by 2026, a 3.0 Mta cement grinding unit shall start by 2028 in the Bengaluru rural district and another integrated plant with 3.5 Mta clinker and 6.0 Mta cement capacity (2 phases) shall be installed in the Kalaburagi district by 2030. The projects will not only strengthen Shree Cement’s presence in South India, and also support Karnataka’s vision of becoming a hub for industrial and infrastructural growth.
