India’s UltraTech exceeds 1GW captive power capacity

UltraTech Cement Limited, India’s largest cement and ready-mix concrete (RMC) company, has crossed a cumulative installed capacity of one gigawatt (1000 MW) of renewable energy. By March 31, 2025, the company achieved a total renewable energy capacity of 1,021 MW, consisting of solar, wind, and hybrid energy sources (photo: Rawan solar park). Combined with its 342 MW in waste heat recovery (WHR) systems, UltraTech’s cumulative green energy capacity has now reached 1,363 MW. This corresponds to about 46% of UltraTech’s current power requirements. The company aims to increase the share of green energy in its total power mix to 65% by 2027 and 85% by 2030.
