UltraTech announced the commissioning of a second grinding unit (GU) at its Aligarh plant (photo) in Uttar Predesh in India. With the addition of 2.7 Mta capacity the grinding capacity of the plant now stands at 4.0 Mta, increasing the company’s capacity to 13.1 Mta in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This project is part of the company’s ongoing expansion program aimed at strengthening its presence in high‑growth markets. UltraTech’s total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity stands at 191.36 Mta. Including overseas’ capacity of 5.4 Mta, the company’s global capacity stands at 196.76 Mta.
