India’s Wonder Cement inaugurated the 5th 8500 tpd kiln line at the Nimbahera cement plant in District Chittorgarh in Rayasthan and increased the clinker capacity of the plant to about 13.6 Mta. With the commissioning of grinding unit 5, the cement capacity has been expanded to 21.5 Mta. The expansion comes 13 years after the 1st kiln line has been opened in Nimbahera in 2012. As part of the upgrade, the plant also received a new 40MW captive power unit (we reported here 08.10.2024) and a 12MW waste heat recovery system to increase energy efficiency.
