The VAN greenfield cement plant of the Galiawa Group in Kurdistan will have a production capacity of 7,000 tpd clinker and about 2.5 Mta cement capacity (photo: officials of Galiawa and Sinoma at a contract signing ceremony). Galiawa is one of the largest groups of companies in Iraq with business in the general trading, steel, cement, concrete and property development. The new cement plant will fulfil the countries construction needs, while producing sulfate-resistant (SRC), ordinary Portland (OPC), CEM II, oil well, and lightweight cements.
