
A few days ago, the website ’www.moneycontrol.com’ reported that JK Lakshmi Cement and Chettinad Cement were bidding to acquire India’s Deccan Cements Ltd. amid the Andhra infrastructure push. However, Deccan’s company secretary wished to state that the company has promptly intimated the Stock Exchanges that the company is not privy to any such discussion, and therefore cannot comment on the same. The integrated cement plant (photo) commenced commercial production in 1982, is located at Bhavanipuram in Nalgonda District of Telangana, at around 165 kms from Hyderabad and has a cement capacity of 1.8 Mta.
