Hirma Cement works of UltraTech in India installed an HPGR (roller press) by KHD Humboldt Wedag for pre-grinding of PCC with high slag content. The roller press has HCB (High Chrome Bandage) rollers, which after 3500 running hours still performs like day one with a superior material grip. Normal hardfacing rollers typically require profiling after just 7000 to 1000 hours due to the high wear of the grinding material. This leads to a rapid productivity loss and increased downtime, which can be widely reduced with the new HCB rollers.
