Limestone deal signed for Mega cement plant in India

GCPL (GoldCrest Cement Private Limited) is in the process of setting up a mega integrated cement manufacturing plant in India. The greenfield project shall have a clinker capacity of 3.5 Mta capacity and a cement capacity of 4.5 Mta. In March 2025, Humboldt Wedag India Pvt Ltd (HWIPL) has been appointed as the contractor to set up the cement plant, which is expected to be completed by March 2027. This month, a long-term agreement for the supply of 150 Mt limestone over a period of 40 years from GMDC’s (Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, photo) upcoming Lakhpat Punrajpur Mine has been made. The mine is situated in Lakhpat Taluka of Gujarat’s Kutch District.
