Algeria’s Head of State instructed to relaunch the Djelfa cement plant, which has not been finished yet. Years ago, the project with 2 production lines of 4500 tpd capacity each, had been initiated by ASEC Egypt, and 90% of civil work had been completed (photo), before it was suspended due to a financial crash. In 2017 a local investor and one firm from China were found to continue the project. However, this did not materialize and now the issue is coming up again. The project shall be completed by a JV between a Chinese Engineering firm and the local GICA Group, the largest cement producer in the country. We will report on the project outcome.
