Last week, Holcim and Air Liquide signed a strategic agreement for the Go4Zero flagship CCS project at the Obourg cement plant in Belgium, however the Final Investment Decision (FID) remains subject to additional effective partnerships across the value chain, as well as public sector support (we reported here 03.02.2026). According to the agreement Air Liquide will supply the necessary oxygen for Holcim’s new 1.7 Mta oxyfuel-ready clinker production line, as well as provide its innovative and proprietary Cryocap™ OXY technology to enable the capture of 1.1 Mta CO₂ emissions, starting in 2029.
