
Nigeria’s Dangote Cement revealed its capacity expansion targets by 2028. Accordingly, the cement capacity shall be increased from 55.0 Mta last year (Photo: 1.5 Mta plant in Zambia) and the commissioning of the first 1.5 Mta phase of the Ivory Cote plant to more than 66 Mta in just 3 years. This year, about 2.7 Mta shall be added in Cameroon, Senegal and South Africa, mainly by increased the grinding capacities, while in 2027, 6.0 Mta shall be installed in Nigeria with the two new integrated Itori cement lines and 2.5 Mta shall be installed in 2028 in Ethiopia with a second line for an investment of about US$ 400m. The investments reflect Dangote’s commitment of capturing the growth opportunities in African markets.
