In the first 2 months in 2026, Ukraine’s cement exports decreased by -81.1% to 42.9 kt, after 227.1 kt in the same period last year and 138.1 kt the year before.
Capacity expansion update of India’s Ambuja Cement
India’s Ambuja Cement is on track to expand its 109 Mta cement and 66 Mta clinker capacity at the end of 3Q 2026 to 117 Mta cement and to 69 Mta clinker capacity by the end of March, which corresponds to the end of FY 2026 (photo: large 6.1 Mta Sanghipuram plant in Gujarat). 4 more grinding units (GU) and 1 integrated unit (IU) will be commissioned. The GUs are Salai Banwa (2.4 Mta), Dahej (1.2), Kalamboli (1.0) and Bathinda (1.2). The Jodpurh IU (Penna) project will provide 3.0 Mta clinker and 2.0 Mta cement. In 1Q FY2027 two projects Warisaliganj (2.0 Mta GU) and Maratha, Line2 with 4.0 Mta clinker capacity will be commissioned.

In the first month in 2026, Colombia’s cement production increased by +3.1% YoY to 0.992 Mt, after 0.962 Mt in the same period last year and 1.023 Mt in the year before.
Cemex to sell certain assets in Colombia to Holcim
Cemex announced that it is in the process of divesting certain operations in Colombia. The divestment is expected to take place through several separate transactions with different parties by the end of the year. In a first step, the company entered into an agreement with the Holcim Group to sell the Caracolito cement plant (figure) and the Santa Rosa grinding mill together with portfolio assets in ready‑mix concrete, aggregates and mortar for a purchase price of US$485 million. Additionally, Cemex is negotiating with other parties the sale of other assets in the same geographic area that were not included in the transaction with Holcim, which the company expects to generate approximately US$70 million on top.
