Pakistan’s Dewan Cement has successfully commissioned a 6 MW solar system at its Dhabeji cement plant in Karachi’s Malir district. The solar system is able to provide about 50% of the plants electrical power needs, which marks a significant step in the company’s transition for renewable energy. The project is part of the company’s broader aim to reduce its carbon footprint, cut operational costs and help to lower Pakistan’s dependence on imported fossil fuels.
